The History of Syston Town Juniors FC

Page under Construction, if you have any information photos etc please either send via the contact us link or direct to my email

Dougie King formed what is now Syston Juniors FC just over 53 years ago, originally they were called Goscote FC (as that was the nearest Village at the time) they played in a field at the back of the King William Pub at Barsby (which unfortunately is now a housing estate) as there was nowhere for them to play in Syston.

Syston St Peter's the Senior Team played at the Stadium which was located at the back of the Midland Railway Pub on Melton Rd Syston, there was no room for the boys there and nowhere else in the village for the boys to play at the time, Central Park was used for Cricket, Necton Street was used for Rugby and Cricket.

Eventually they moved to Central park / Necton Street in roughly 1974 after reaching an agreement to use the park with the Parsh Council, this was partly due to fact that Syston Cricket Club had managed to acquire land and relocate just off the fosse way where they still are to this day.
